Weekly Devlog Week 2 - Angely

1. Our team aimed to create a small working prototype in Unreal with assets added in.

2. In my area, my team was able to create a small prototype with working assets.

3. In my area, my team's goals for next week are to have a playable character that looks straight up. Add a logo to our game's itch page.

4. Individually, I created the camera blueprints in Unreal Engine for our playable character. I also built a small environment and added train cart assets to the scene.

5. By next week, I hope to add more train cart assets, create low-poly clouds for the environment, and figure out how to collaborate through Unreal.

6. So that I can achieve these goals by next week, I will have to continue to learn more about blueprints in Unreal and refresh my understanding of C++ if needed, and figure out the best program to use for Unreal collaboration. (since I heard GitHub wasn't that great for bigger projects)

7. Here's a shot of some low-poly trains I added into Unreal.

Playtesting Report

1. We playtested a paper mock-up of our game.

2. Our team wanted to learn if our game's core concept/mechanics was something people would want to play, and receive some helpful feedback on our progress.

3. This week’s playtesters were our college classmates, who represent our game's target audience.

4. During playtesting, we noticed that several classmates were genuinely intrigued by the concept and eager to learn more. Some offered insightful suggestions and even pointed out small details we had initially overlooked. Overall, it was clear that our playtesters were engaged and interested in the game.

5.  We asked if they had any ideas for power-ups or the environment, and whether they found the mechanics engaging.

6. We received some suggestions for multiplayer, and how our train carts should act after falling and reaching the ground.

7. We like to save suggestions so we can come back to them and add what makes sense later on. One thing we learned is that not everyone is a fan of the character’s point of view.
